Tim Rescala is working on two pieces based on the plays of Maria Clara Machado. One of them is O Boi e o Burro a Caminho de Belém (The Bull and the Donkey on the Road to Bethlehem). The composer transformed it to an opera which was commissioned by the Teatro Municipal of Rio de Janeiro. This children’s opera, with music and libretto by Tim Rescala, will be staged on the 2nd, 4th, 9th and 11th of December, and directed by Cacá Mourthé – Maria Clara’s niece and heiress (and also director of the Teatro Tablado).
The other work is Pluft, that will become a movie, directed by Rosane Svartman. It will be released in 2018. The screenplay was written by Cacá Mourthé, José Lavigne and Rosane Svartman. Tim Rescala will compose the original soundtrack, which will include songs and symphonic music.
